Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy Services

Autism
As a neurodiversity affirming practice, we follow your child's lead and honor all forms of communication - including gestures, signs, speech, visual supports, and AAC systems. Our speech therapy sessions are engaging and full of activities that both interest your child and meet their sensory needs. At Connect Therapy Services, we help families embrace the unique abilities and qualities of their child, and coach caregivers to naturally build on language skills at home.

AAC
At Connect Therapy Services, we support children with complex communication needs by introducing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. Our goal is to work with each family to determine which AAC system best fits their needs and supports their child's ability to express themselves. Not only do we focus on teaching children to use AAC, but we also help parents, teachers, and caregivers gain confidence to use their child's AAC in all activities of daily life.

Echolalia & Scripting
Many children use memorized language from videos, songs, TV shows, and other sources to communicate - which is called gestalt language processing! We honor and validate scripts, work with parents to learn their meaning, and use the Natural Language Acquisition approach to support the journey to original language. At Connect Therapy Services, we make communication an enjoyable and successful experience by helping your child move through the stages of gestalt language development.

Early Intervention
Early intervention lays a strong foundation for speech and language development in children under the age of 3 years. Connect Therapy Services comes to your home to help you understand and support the way that your child communicates, plays, and interacts with family in their most comfortable and natural environment! Using a parent coaching model, we will help you embed opportunities and strategies into your everyday routines. Our goal is to give you the tools and confidence to help your child grow!
Sensory Motor Feeding
We help children build a joyful relationship with food using a responsive, ND affirming lens. My holistic approach honors each child's unique sensory profile while supporting oral motor function and the underlying motor skills needed for safe, comfortable eating.
